Janet joined Defined Health in 2008, bringing over 17 years of large pharma experience to the company. Since joining, Janet has assumed a leadership role for Defined Health’s product search and evaluation business, working collaboratively with the therapeutic area heads. She has led development of a proprietary internal database which facilitates compound and company assessments by Defined Health project teams, and allows for rapid development of competitive landscapes and pipelines for L&BD and M&A projects. She also acts as project team leader on many of the opportunity assessment projects, and participates in projects across a variety of therapeutic areas.
Janet spent 6 years at Hoffmann-La Roche as a Manager of Market Intelligence in the Pharma Partnering division, focusing on information management and analysis for Acquisitions & Strategic Alliances. There she was involved in and led a number of competitive landscape, company profile and pipeline analysis projects. Most recently, she worked as a US Regulatory Partner on the Roche FDA filing for Actemra, an IL-6 antagonist for rheumatoid arthritis. Janet also has extensive experience in the design and implementation of internal databases for opportunity tracking. Prior to Roche, Janet spent 11 years at Eli Lilly & Company as an electrophysiologist in the Neuroscience division, and subsequently assuming senior associate positions with increasing responsibility in Corporate Strategic Analysis and Research Acquisition. In those roles, she worked on strategic projects supporting senior management decisions and in-licensing activities. Janet spent 6 years in academia working in the area of drug withdrawal (electrophysiology & behavior).
Janet has Bachelor degrees in Biological Sciences and Psychology from Southern Illinois University. She is a member of the Licensing Executives Society, Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, and Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals .
